First Light Celebration

Seasonal Celebrations are being held at Anō Anō and throughout the community. We will do crafts suited to the season, and invite the sharing of stories about what this time of year means for us in our own lives, in the cultures we have come from, and in the changes we’ve noticed happening in nature.

This is the time of the year when something subtly shifts. It's still winter, but it's a little lighter, there's a gentle new sun here for a tiny bit longer each day, and the plants in the garden are starting to grow a little faster. For the ancient Celtic people, this time was called Imbolc, and was celebrated as a time of the Goddess Brigid of the flame & well.
