Timebank Regional Coordinator

I became a timebanker in May 2013 and have been involved with timebank admin for the vast majority of the time since and there aren't many tasks I haven't done. When Kaitāia TimeBank morphed into Tai Tokerau Timebank in 2019 I stepped into the new Regional Coordinator role. Unsurprisingly I do the admin at a regional level, and I'm also involved in the timebank coordinator communities nationally and internationally, and I'm the main link between the coordination team, the Trust's management team and Board members. It's also my job to put these newsletters out each month and try to keep the timebank website up to date and relevant.
I was asked recently what drew me to timebanking? Probably the concept of everyone's time being of equal worth, finding a non-monetary way to be a part of the community to get things done, and building stronger resilient community networks.
As an immigrant (from the UK) it has been a great way to connect with my community, and I've made some great friends through my involvement with timebank and the Trust's other projects. I live in Kaitāia, so can often be found in Anō Anō upcycling the textiles we divert from landfill. It's great getting to hang out with others working towards a zero waste/low impact lifestyle and supporting each other on our journeys.I was asked recently what drew me to timebanking?
