About the event
May the Forth be with you!
Bring along your recycling, bottles and boxes, lids and tubes, bits and bobs. We’ll provide the scissors, paints, glue, and clean up crew (you heard it right, mums & dads!)
Let’s celebrate Star Wars day and make some RUBBISH ROBOTS!
Except it’s not really rubbish, it’s stuff that used to be trees, sandy beaches, and rocky mountains.. Humans went and found them, and cleverly made them boxes and bottles, cans and containers, lots of very useful things. But we only used them once? And now they’re heading to the rubbish dump?! Let’s save nature from this terrible fate. Let’s figure out what we can do so the Trees stay in the Forests, The Sand stays on the Beaches, and the Rocks stay in the Mountains. Then let’s make some much loved Rubbish Robots that we’ll play with again and again.
We encourage you to bring along things that can’t be recycled in Te Hiku. Plastics that aren’t type 1, 2, or 5. Soft plastic, rinsed out tetrapacks (soy/nutmilk, juice boxes etc), plastic bottle lids, plastic or wax coated cardboard, and any other bits and bobs you’re not sure about but would make a great robot body part.
$5 koha appreciated but not required, to help us keep running awesome workshops.
