About the event
The rains have begun to soften the earth, it’s the beginning of the planting season. Come and help us plant native trees along the South Road boardwalk area. Help us to envision and create diverse habitats for our manu, insects, mokomoko, and tangata to enjoy. Bring your tamariki, whānau, kaumātua, and let us share stories as we plant as a community. Bring your gardening gear, and a spade if you have one. Afterwards, we’ll finish with a shared kai (bring a plate). All are welcome, whether or not you are able to plant. We will have a rest area with seats, mats, tea and coffee.
Meet at the front of Te Ahu Friday 21st June 9.15am for karakia at 9.30am Closing karakia at 1pm
