Ninja Gardening!

Timebank member Sandy is the admin & and super active and passionate gardener of the Garden Ninjas in Kaeo, who are an organsational member. Contributing with your time/work/energy will entitle you to timecredits from the Ninja Gardeners group, or you may think of how to contribute timecredits to the group?

This week's gardening schedule from Sandy: Friday (7th July) 2pm-4pm at Andy's garden, 87 Mangamanihi Road To do: weeding carrot patch, I have a tray of beetroot and bok choi seedlings that we could start planting out. Saturday is Ninjalini day! We're meeting again at Andy's garden from 10am til 12pm with a shared lunch picnic afterwards. Our homeschoolers love to get in their kayaks to harvest the pond weed that we'll use in the gardens. Perfect symbiosis .

We are looking for someone to collect us some seaweed that we can use for our gardens. We just don't seem to find the time to head to the beach at the right time. 1 hour per bag plus fresh veggies from our garden. I have empty bags available.

What we do: we are creating gardens wherever we're allowed in, with the goal of producing an abundance of food, may it be fresh produce, preserved food or dried food and herbs. We have 4 gardens in and around Kaeo, including 1 community garden in Pupuke.

Contact Sandy or Whangaroa-Kerikeri Local Coordinator me, Barbara for more information.
