Sausage success!

On Saturday 8th Oct Tai Tokerau Timebank ran a sausage making workshop at St Stephen’s Church Community Rooms in Whangārei. Five lucky participants were taught to make preservative and additive-free sausages by tutor Patrick Wu.

Patrick ran a lively and humorous workshop with plenty of learning and laughs. He is motivated to pass on his experience, so that others don’t make the many mistakes that he made over years of sausage-making trial and error.

His entertaining style was packed with information, helpful tips, practical advice and humour.

The group made 1kg of sausages to take home for cooking and left armed with spices (bratwurst and boerewors), skins and a sausage gun to make another kg at home.

The feedback from participants has been very positive and some have already passed on their new-found sausage-making skills to their families.

This event was a great success and was made possible with the support of the Whangārei District Creative Communities Scheme
